Sad news, shohei ohtani all time player is dead….
During a regular practice session at the end of November, a teammate inadvertently struck the high school baseball player from Georgia in the head with a bat, leading to the declaration of brain death.
Gainesville High School’s 18-year-old star pitcher and catcher Jeremy Medina was struck in the head on November 20 and has been in the hospital in a coma ever since.
This week, his family gave their confirmation that he will be removed from life support and donate his organs.
Manager Jamie Green, shaken, informed the local press that Medina leaned on a batting cage’s netting when a teammate was hitting balls.
“As the player followed through on his swing, Jeremy leaned into the net and was struck in the head,” Green stated.
In a secret meeting on Wednesday, the manager broke the news of Medina’s destiny to his horrified teammates. Counselors have been sent to console the bewildered pupils.
Prior to the incident, according to Medina’s family, he had been offered a scholarship to play college baseball.
Since the tragedy, the neighborhood has rallied around the lad, with one local placard urging people to “Pray for Jeremy” as his prognosis grew bleak.
According to his father, David, Medina was a devoted Christian who dreamed of becoming a youth preacher in addition to being a professional baseball player.
“Our strength, my family’s strength, my strength from day one has been rooted in the most amazing power of Jesus Christ,” the father of Medina stated.
“Some don’t even know my son, they don’t even know my family, but they stand with us in prayer and support us at this time.”
