Dennis Cirkin and Bradley Dack of Sunderland are expected to be sidelined for a while due to injuries

Due to a hamstring problem, Bradley Dack is expected to be sidelined for at least a month, and Dennis Cirkin’s return has been postponed due to a setback during training. Just before halftime, Dack hobbled out of the Black Cats’ Boxing Day victory over Hull City, continuing his injury-plagued spell as an attacking midfielder on Wearside.

Since joining in the summer, injuries have limited the 30-year-old to just 13 appearances, five of which have been starts. He will now likely miss more time due to the injury. In addition, Cirkin’s injury problems continue; after starting training again before Christmas, the defender appeared to be close to making a comeback when he suffered an injury.

Boss Michael Beale stated, “Bradley and Dennis aren’t going to be available; we’re going to be missing them for a while.” “Bradley’s hamstring injury is expected to heal in four weeks at most, but that’s arguably the best diagnosis we could have received.

Since his hamstring injury at the beginning of September, Cirkin has only made one start and three substitute appearances. His final appearance occurred on November 11 during the home victory over Birmingham City.

Better news for Beale came in the form of midfielder Jay Matete’s return to action following his recovery from a knee cartilage injury sustained while the team was on a preseason tour of the USA. Jay Matete has been training for a while, according to Beale. He played 45 minutes for the U21s against Arsenal before Christmas, but he hasn’t been chosen for the last few games.
