Heartbreaking news: The San Francisco Giants’ head coach is suspended after it proved that he had an affair with his key player’s wife

Sad news: It has been established that the head coach of the San Francisco Giants had an affair with the wife of a key player, leading to his suspension.

Major League Baseball said on Tuesday that Larry Baer, the president and CEO of the San Francisco Giants, has been suspended following a physical incident with his wife that was captured on camera earlier this month. Baer will be out of pay suspension until July 1.

In a video that TMZ was able to get on March 1, Baer’s wife was shown falling to the ground from a chair in a plaza in San Francisco while he was reaching for a cellphone in her hand. Commissioner Rob Manfred issued a statement saying, “Mr. Baer’s conduct was unacceptable under MLB policies and warrants discipline.”

Last Monday, San Francisco authorities declared that Baer would not be prosecuted. The commissioner reported that he spoke with Baer and that the league had looked into the matter.

“Mr. Baer should be held to a higher standard because, as a leader, he is expected to be a role model for others in his organization and community,” Manfred stated. “Based on my conversation with Mr. Baer, it is clear that he regrets what transpired and takes responsibility for his conduct.”

The league announced that Baer’s time off since taking a leave of absence from the team on March 4 will be included in his unpaid punishment. Baer declared on Tuesday that he understood the penalty.

The league added that before a therapy and counseling plan could be created, Baer would need to undergo an expert evaluation. “My unacceptable behavior fell well short of what must be demanded of every person, particularly someone in my position and role in the community,” Baer stated in a statement. “I will now immediately begin the significant work ahead of me to listen, learn from my mistakes, and seek professional advice.”

Two days before baseball’s opening day in the United States, an announcement is made. The team’s ownership group’s board of directors declared Rob Dean to be the team’s interim CEO and retained Baer in that role following the suspension.
