Heartbreaking news: The Tigers Cats’ head coach is suspended after it proved that he had an affair with his key player,s wife
Tommy Condell, the offensive coordinator and associate head coach for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, has left the team in what the team described as a mutual decision.
“This is a really challenging day. I’ve known Tommy since the year 2013. He is a remarkable man with unmatched imagination and work ethic. “His track record as a coordinator and quarterback development specialist with Hamilton is truly remarkable,” head coach and president of football operations Orlondo Steinauer stated in a release.
He has been a member of four Eastern Division championship teams over his seven seasons as a member of our Ticats coaching staff. Without a question, Tommy has contributed significantly to the organization’s pursuit of excellence. We appreciate all that he and his family have done and wish them continued success.
After taking on the position for three years as Hamilton’s offensive coordinator in 2013, Condell abruptly left the position in April 2016 and stated his family as the reason for his resignation. After taking a year off from football in 2017, he joined the Toronto Argonauts as the receivers coach. He played two seasons and won one Grey Cup with the team.
The Utica, New York native came back to the Ticats in 2019 to serve as their offensive coordinator. In 2022, he was promoted to associate head coach.
Due to major injuries to Matthew Shiltz and Bo Levi Mitchell, Hamilton has started three different quarterbacks this season. In terms of net yards per game, offensive points per game, completion %, passing yards per game, rushing yards per game, and turnovers, the offense is ranked seventh, eighth, ninth, and ninth, respectively.
