Jakarta: Ajax Amsterdam, a team in the Dutch League, has formally named a new coach to take over for Erik Ten Hag, who will shortly take up a coaching role at Manchester United. Alfred Schreuder is the man.

Ajax and Schreuder committed to working together for the next two years, as per the terms of the deal.

Schreuder worked as Ten Hag’s assistant at Ajax for eighteen months, according to Reuters. He also served as Ronald Koeman’s assistant at Barcelona during the previous campaign.

This former Ajax player has also held the position of head coach at Twente and Hoffenheim. He remains in charge of Belgian club Club Brugge at the moment.

At the end of the season, Schreuder’s Brugge squad led the Belgian League standings after coming back from a deficit. If his squad wins this week, they’ll guarantee the crown.
