Another exciting news rock the walls of the Boston Celtics as Joe Mazzulla joyfully announced yet another….

Boston — Before the 2024 NBA trade deadline chimed, Brad Stevens and the Celtics made one last transaction.

Jaden Springer was acquired by the Celtics from Philadelphia on Thursday in return for a second-round pick. Adrian Wojnarowski claims that the C’s also traded Dalano Banton to Portland for a “heavily-protected” second-round pick.

After being selected 28th overall in the 2021 NBA Draft, 21-year-old Springer is currently in his third season. This season, he has participated in 32 games, starting all but one of them as a substitute. In his 11.8 minutes per game, he averages 4.0 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.1 assists. Springer, a 6-foot-4 guard, is under contract through the 2024–25 season and is making slightly over $2.2 million this year.

This season, Banton played in 24 games for Boston, making one start. He averaged 2.3 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 7.1 minutes per game.

The transactions take place one day after the Celtics traded Lamar Stevens and two future second-round picks to the Grizzlies in exchange for Xavier Tillman.
