Despite going on the injured list, he finished the season with the Lions.

Here, he’s committed to the starting position both in the near and long terms. A lotto card behind him is Hooker. Prior to his thrilling last season at Tennessee being cut short by a knee injury, he was one of the faces of collegiate football. It will also be intriguing to watch Hooker’s development and comfort level with Goff as his primary backup quarterback as he has a full offseason ahead of him with the playbook and on the field.

The 30-year-old Sudfeld, who spent an entire season as Goff’s backup, adds depth to the quarterback position and scheme familiarity. He joined the Lions in 2022 and has played in two games so far. During his time with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2020, Sudfeld has not attempted a pass this season. But he is aware of the plan and the group.
