The all-time greatest players in New York Yankees history include a number of outstanding players, including Babe Ruth. He was the greatest player in Yankees history.

Because of this, it was difficult to narrow down this list of players to only 10 players. There were many worthy contenders for best of the best.

It’s also important to note that players were assessed only for the Yankees phase of their careers. That small piece of knowledge doesn’t matter to people like Mariano Rivera and Lou Gehrig, who played their whole careers in pinstripes. However, a few players’ rankings would have been substantially higher if we hadn’t taken into account a sizable amount of years spent in the game.
