TRADE ALERT!!!: The Cubs signed Atlanta Braves star outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr on three years contract with interesting Caveat which has to…

Two of the  smart players have been suspended because of serious offenses they have committed.

The  Jays have suspended Kevin Pillar for two games for using an anti-gay slur, according to sportscasters Hazel Mae and Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.

The event happened during the Atlanta Braves game on Wednesday night. According to ESPN, “Pillar struck out swinging to end the seventh inning, he says, after he was quick-pitched by Braves pitcher Jason Motte, yelling toward the mound before Braves catcher Kurt Suzuki stepped in to calm things and the benches cleared.”

The entire game was stressful. According to Chris Bahr of Fox Sports, Freddie Freeman left the game in the fifth inning after being struck by a pitch in the wrist. Then, in the game, the benches were cleared twice: once following the incident involving Pillar, and again in the eighth inning following a solo home run by Jose Bautista, flipping his bat.

According to ESPN.com, Toronto general manager Ross Atkins stated that the Blue Jays conferred with both the players association and Major League Baseball prior to determining the penalty.

Yes, it’s true that the rapid pitch was the first thing that irritated me, but I believe that my irritation with the way this series has been going and myself are the real causes of my anger. It was foolish, immature, and inappropriate. It’s just that I’m a competitive man and a man of the moment; it’s all part of the game. Naturally, I’m going to go above and beyond to apologize and reassure him that it was all my fault and that he didn’t do anything wrong. Of course, this is something to grow from and move past.

Please don’t use this as a way to define me, but I believe that the main reason for our lack of success in these games was irritation after a strong homestand. We were unable to build on our performance against Seattle and instead came out flat. Everything just spilled out at that one time.

Chisholm claims that Pillar will receive his salary from those two games; however, the details are still up in the air.

The Blue Jays had been in this situation previously when Yunel Escobar received a three-game suspension from the team in 2012 for wearing an anti-gay slur on his black eye.
