“Celtic Football Club is delighted to announce that Brendan Rodgers has been appointed the club’s new football manager on a three-year contract,” the club said in a statement.

“Brendan previously managed the club to phenomenal success, winning consecutive domestic trebles and, in addition, delivering the most famous of the Invincible seasons.”

The 50-year-old had a great run with Leicester, helping them to two fifth-place finishes.

Premier League championships as well as an FA Cup victory in 2021. But ever since his dismissal in April—followed by Leicester’s relegation on the last day of the season—he has been unemployed.

Following Ange Postecoglou’s departure earlier this month to assume the role of head coach at Tottenham, Celtic have been looking for a new manager.

“I am really delighted to return to Celtic, and I am hugely excited by this great opportunity,” Rodgers stated. “My family and I made an easy decision to rejoin the club when we were granted the opportunity to do so.

“It has been a pleasure working at Celtic, and I hope to continue delivering excellent football, make sure we have a team that everyone loves to watch, and eventually give our supporters more success.”
