Notts County was promoted to the EFL last season by Luke Williams, who left the team in fifth place in League Two. Swansea City, who finished 16th in the championship after firing Michael Duff on December 4, have not had a head coach since.

Luke Williams, the manager of Notts County, has been named head coach of Swansea City for a three-and-a-half-year term.
Michael Duff was fired by the Championship club on December 4, and Notts and the 43-year-old reached an agreement on compensation. This brings an end to the club’s month-long search.
Williams, who finished fifth in League Two, guided County back to the EFL last season after the team was promoted through the National League play-offs.
Along with him, who have moved from Meadow Lane, are his assistant Ryan Harley and first-team coach George Lawtey. The new management group will take charge of Saturday’s FA Cup third-round match against Morecambe.
Before taking over at Notts, Williams served as Russell Martin’s assistant manager at Swansea.

A statement from Swansea read: “Williams’ appointment follows a thorough and extensive search for a head coach who can deliver the types of performances and results Swansea City need to achieve our goals while exhibiting a commitment to a brand of football in-keeping with the club’s best recent traditions.”
