Unbelivable, the Chicago Cubs All-Time player has officially decided to announce his retirement Due to…

The athlete who Cleveland fans adore and call “Dirtbag” has decided to end his career.

After ten years in the major leagues, former Cleveland second baseman Jason Kipnis formally ended his career on Monday afternoon by announcing his retirement on social media. During his tenure with Cleveland, which lasted all but one season, Kipnis amassed a.261 average, a.750 OPS, 123 home runs, 252 doubles, 23 triples, 545 RBIs, and 136 stolen bases. In Cleveland’s club history, Kipnis leads all second basemen in home runs, doubles, and stolen bases and is third in RBIs and fWAR (20.5).

During Cleveland’s ascent to the top of the American League Central, which includes division victories in 2016, 2017, and 2018, as well as a run to the World Series in 2016, Kipnis was a two-time All-Star (2013, 2015) and a leader of the clubhouse. In the 2013 and 2015 AL MVP voting, Kipnis placed 11th and 16th, respectively.

His “Dirtbag” style of play won him over fans for his whole Cleveland career. He was a member of the core group of clubhouse leaders that also included Yan Gomes, Michael Brantley, and Corey Kluber. It’s also reasonable to argue that Kipnis was those teams’ main player in many respects. Perhaps Kipnis’s scoring from second base was the finest illustration of his style of play.

Kipnis praised many people in his life and in the game, including the Cleveland organization and fans, in his statement announcing his retirement.

Kipnis tweeted, “To Cleveland, thank you for being you.” “You were a fortunate drafter for me. Every time I stepped onto the field, I wanted my play to reflect the mindset of the city. Sure, my career had its ups and downs, but one thing I never wanted you to doubt was how hard I worked to earn the title on the front. Every game, I attempted to make you proud. You guys provided me the opportunity to fulfill my ambition, and I will always remember the incredible times we had together.
