Potential Newcastle Supporter Chris Dobey announced that he would like to display the PDC Darts trophy in Sunderland should he win, but is this even feasible?

Next weekend, Chris Dobey hopes to win the world title and take the Sid Waddell Trophy to “enemy” territory.

However, Hollywood, a devoted Newcastle supporter, is aware that his plan will be rejected because it is too outrageous and inflammatory. On Friday night, Dazzling Dobey eliminated Michael Smith from the PDC world championship by defeating “Bully Boy” 4-0 in a clinical manner to advance to the quarterfinals.

He now has to be taken seriously as a contender for the crown, even though he might not be able to showcase the trophy until the Toon’s home match against Manchester City. When asked if his desire was to walk around St. James’ Park in the trophy for a lap of honor, Dobey smiled and said, “My dream is to carry it to the Stadium of Light on January 6 (when Sunderland hosts Newcastle in the FA Cup third round).”

After defeating Smith, Dobey continued, saying, “I did not even feel comfortable up there tonight.” Michael is a wonderful boy. I am glad it was my night because I have all the time in the world for him. However, there could only be one winner.

I do not think anyone underestimates me because they are aware of my abilities. In this competition, I have been quite consistent, and I am giving it my all. To win is what I aspire to.”

Dobey has made it to Ally Pally in time for the New Year, where reigning champion Rob Cross is now waiting. Voltage defeated Jonny Clayton 4-0 on Saturday night, securing his place in the quarterfinals without having to exert any effort.

Now, the two will get together on New Year’s Day. Both on the Tyne-Wear side and among many supporters on the other would find a trophy a foreign concept. The Black Cats’ FA Cup victory fifty years ago was the last time either team had won one.
