St. Louis Blues Notebook: Brayden Schenn is ready to leave due to…

The assistant captains are Colton Parayko, Justin Faulk, and Robert Thomas.

Entering his seventh season with the Blues, Schenn first played for the team in 2017–18. He was a part of the team that won the Stanley Cup in 2019. In 82 games during the 2022–23 season, Schenn recorded 21 goals and 44 assists for 65 points.

To be honest, I don’t believe it has set in yet,” Schenn said to stlouisblues.com. “I’m grateful for this great honor, as well as the franchise’s history and past great captains. It’s amazing to see your name added to this remarkable list.” I’m looking forward to the challenge and the opportunities this presents.

The previous captain of the Brandon Wheat Kings now stands alongside a distinguished group of players who held the position for the Blues, including, among others, Red Berenson, Bob and Barclay Plager, Garry Unger, Brian Sutter, Bernie Federko, Brett Hull, Chris Pronger, Al MacInnis, and Wayne Gretzky.

“To be honest, your first thought is that this is a huge honor,” Schenn remarked. “I’ve always stated that my best experience was in St. Louis. We have a chance to collaborate and move back toward our ideal state as a team now that we have the chance to play here, win the Stanley Cup, and now receive the honor of captain. I’m excited for the challenge and the chance to take the lead on this.

With the Blues, Schenn has made 425 appearances during the regular season. During that time, he has 341 points (131 goals and 210 assists).

Craig Berube, the head coach of the Blues, remarked, “Schenn is a leader.” “He’s a seasoned player who has contributed to winning teams and accomplished a great deal in St. Louis.” He has put in a lot of effort since the first day he arrived and regularly demonstrates leadership both on and off the ice.
