STRIKER After Aston Villa was relegated from the Premier League, Gabriel Agbonlahor resigned as captain of the team.

After going on an alleged alcohol-fueled laughing-gas binge on the day the club’s relegation was confirmed two weeks ago, the 29-year-old was suspended by Villa.

Agbonlahor posted on Instagram, saying, “I no longer deserve to play such a role.”

“It hurts to have lost this role because it was a huge honor for me.”

Villa has started looking into Agbonlahor’s activities.

Caretaker Manager Eric Black stated, “Gabby’s investigation is ongoing; it might be resolved in the next day or so.”

Three weeks prior, he was seen smoking a shisha pipe at a nightclub in Dubai, but Villa chose not to punish him after further inquiry.

Three-time England cap winner Agbonlahor, who has over 20 years of Villa experience, issued an apology for his recent actions.

“Despite reports and photos in the press making it seem otherwise, I’m hurting too, and I’m asking Aston Villa fans for forgiveness,” he said.

“I acknowledge that my performances this season have fallen short of expectations, but I’ll work hard to put things right! Till My Death, Up The Villa, Villa!”

John McGinn became a member of the Easter Road greats in a mere three years as a Hibernian player.

After joining Hibs from St Mirren in 2015, the all-action midfielder quickly won over the supporters. The following year, he achieved true legend status by playing a crucial role in the first Hibs team to win the Scottish Cup since 1902.

His reputation as the favorite of the Leith supporters was further cemented when he was promoted back to the Scottish Premiership and placed fourth in the top division in 2017–18.

McGinn’s Hibs fairytale was devoid of a happy ending because he was unable to say goodbye to Hibs after spending £2.5 million to sign with Aston Villa in 2018.
