Howard Stern has released a new CD that is extremely…

The legendary Long Beach, California ska-punk band Sublime recently gave an exclusive performance at The Howard Stern Show studio.

The band performed a strong four-song set that included their timeless hits “Santeria,” “Wrong Way,” and “What I Got,” as well as “Feel Like That,” their first new song in 28 years. The band was led on vocals and guitar by Jakob Nowell, the late Bradley Nowell’s son.

Jakob’s membership in Sublime is a continuance of the band’s heritage rather than only a memorial to his father. Jakob’s vocals during their Howard Stern appearance reflected the depth of anguish in his father while adding his own unique style to the mixture. Together with original members Eric Wilson on bass and Bud Gaugh on drums, his assured performance produced a nostalgic yet modern atmosphere.

Tragically, on May 25, 1996, Bradley Nowell, the original leader of Sublime, passed away from a heroin overdose, two months before their self-titled album was released.

The record went on to become a huge hit, solidifying Sublime’s legacy in music history, even after his passing. In a recent conversation with Conner Coffin on the 805 Cold Beer Surf Club, Jakob discussed the responsibility of upholding his father’s legacy.

“Without the sacrifices made by my father and others, I would not have these possibilities. The objective isn’t only to perform large-scale performances; it’s also to foster community and paying tribute to their legacy. My main goal is to reunite the SoCal alternative movement and support the next generation by relaunching Skunk Records with Miguel, my father’s closest buddy. It all comes down to having a mission and supporting the music industry.

“It feels like having a purpose for sure,” he continued.

The most recent example of Sublime’s remarkable comeback is their most recent performance.

Following an incredible performance at Coachella that won them over a new generation of fans, the band has set off on a lengthy national tour that is drawing sizable crowds. The band’s most recent release, “Feel Like That,” has also generated buzz. It debuted at No. 35 on Billboard’s Alternative Airplay list, where it is the band’s first appearance in 26 years.

In the meantime, “Santeria,” one One of the band’s most well-known songs, it debuted at No. 3 on the Alternative Songs chart of Billboard in 1997. It quickly became a defining song of the time and is still a fan favorite today, decades after it first came out.
