GOOD NEWS: Iorn maiden has given birth to even another…
For the first time in their history, Iron Maiden performed “Alexander the Great (356-323 BC)” lately. This raises the question of what other song they should eventually perform live. The band should play more of their 1988 hit “Only The Good Die Young” from Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son, according to Iron Maiden bassist Steve Harris, who spoke with Metal Hammer about the matter.
It would be enjoyable to occasionally revisit a few of the tracks, I think. “Only the Good Die Young” strikes me as a really lovely song that would be enjoyable to perform.”
“Yes, we did play it a few times. Maybe I should play that; that would be good. It’s one of those obscure songs, a little more. However, it’s only… What do you throw away? away? That’s the issue. Numerous albums, countless tracks.”
Later in the same interview, Harris acknowledges that Iron Maiden doesn’t really consider what’s popular when choosing their setlists—rather, they choose them mostly for their own enjoyment. Which makes sense—guys have been doing this for almost fifty years. You have to amuse yourselves eventually, don’t you?
