Fantastic news: the Raiders have made the best signing of their top veteran quarterback.

Nathan Peterman, a backup quarterback who was a free agent, signed with the Las Vegas Raiders on Tuesday, returning to the team where he had spent three seasons.

After playing with the Raiders from 2018 to 21, Peterman would probably be Aidan O’Connell’s backup and Gardner Minshew’s starting backup.

The Raiders led 20–7 at the half after O’Connell and Minshew, who each played a quarter in Saturday’s preseason game at Minnesota, took the field. However, the Vikings rallied for a 24-23 victory despite the ineffectiveness of reserves Anthony Brown Jr. and Carter Bradley.

By applying the NFL’s new emergency QB rule, the Raiders were able to retain three quarterbacks in the previous campaign.

After being cut by the Buffalo Bills, Peterman joined with the Raiders practice squad in December 2018. He only performed two.
