Home Before Dark, the renowned singer-songwriter’s second album for American Recordings, was first released on May 5, 2008. It debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in North America, where it received a platinum certification. It also peaked at the top of album charts in other countries, such as the UK and New Zealand.

Neil Diamond wrote the original songs on Home Before Dark, along with a few remakes. Rick Rubin produced it, while Dana Nielsen mixed it. David Campbell also orchestrated and conducted the piece’s symphonic portions.

The reissue of that album, which came out almost twenty years after the first one, included fifteen brand-new additional tracks for download and streaming, some of which were available for the first time. Demos, early recordings, alternate takes, and alternate mixes of well-known Diamond songs including “Oh Mary,” “Delirious Love,” and “Save Me a Saturday Night” are among the new offers.
