Mike White is now back on his feet.

**AUSTIN, TX** – Mike White, the head coach of the Texas Longhorns softball team, has made a triumphant return to the field after a significant period of recovery from a serious injury. White, who had been sidelined due to health issues earlier this year, is now back on his feet and ready to resume his coaching responsibilities.

White’s absence was a major loss for the Longhorns, who missed his leadership during a critical period of the season. The nature of his injury was not initially specified, but it required extensive medical treatment and rehabilitation. Despite the challenges, White’s recovery was marked by determination and resilience, culminating in his recent return to full health.

In a heartfelt announcement on Wednesday, White shared his excitement about rejoining the team. “I am incredibly grateful to be back on my feet and ready to lead the Longhorns once again,” White said. “The support from my family, the coaching staff, and our amazing players has been overwhelming. It’s been a tough journey, but I’m thrilled to be back and to continue working with such a dedicated group.”

During White’s recovery, assistant coach and former player, Marissa Young, stepped up to manage the team. Young’s leadership helped guide the Longhorns through a challenging period, and her contributions were instrumental in keeping the team competitive.

University of Texas Athletic Director Chris Del Conte expressed his enthusiasm for White’s return. “Mike’s comeback is fantastic news for Texas Softball,” Del Conte said. “His expertise and passion for the game are invaluable to our program. We appreciate the hard work of Coach Young and the entire staff during Mike’s absence, but it’s clear that Mike’s presence will bring a renewed energy and focus to our team.”

White’s return is eagerly anticipated by players and fans alike. Known for his strategic mind and ability to inspire his team, White’s presence is expected to provide a significant boost as the Longhorns prepare for the upcoming season. His recovery and return underscore his dedication to the sport and his commitment to leading Texas Softball to continued success.
