Injury reports: Los Angeles Dodgers list of injured players in critical conditions.

We documented every time a Dodgers player missed time and was taken off the active roster in 2023, including all of their stints on the disabled list, concussion IL, paternity list, bereavement leave, and family medical emergency leave.

In order to make room for three free agency signings on February 16, the Dodgers placed three pitchers on the 60-day disabled list, making use of the injured list just days before spring training began. In August 2022, Walker Buehler underwent Tommy John surgery and had his flexor tendon repaired. In November, Blake Treinen underwent shoulder surgery to repair his rotator cuff and labrum. In December, J.P. Feyereisen underwent shoulder surgery.

After spraining the LCL and rupturing the ACL in his right knee on February 27, Gavin Lux was also placed on the disabled list and is anticipated to miss the entire season.

Due to a sprained left ankle on March 6, Tony Gonsolin will miss the beginning of the regular season. The competition for Gonsolin’s rotation spot was won by Ryan Pepiot, who was later placed on the disabled list due to a left oblique strain on opening day.

To complete their opening-day roster, the Dodgers also placed relievers Jimmy Nelson, Daniel Hudson, and Alex Reyes on the injured list.

This season, none of the pitchers in the major leagues—Buehler, Treinen, Feyereisen, Reyes, or Nelson—pitched.

Our 40-man roster website, where we chronicle every Dodgers transaction from the beginning of spring training until the end of the season, is enhanced with our injured list tracker.

Position players on the disabled list miss at least 10 days of play, while pitchers must miss a minimum of 15 days. Players on the injury list have to miss at least seven days of play.

A minimum of one day and a maximum of three days are allotted for paternity leave. Players are required to miss a minimum of three days and a maximum of seven days due to bereavement or family medical emergencies.

The Dodgers missed 1.741 games in 2022 due to the placement of 30 players on the injured list or on one of these other leaves. 34 players missed a total of 2,157 games in 2023 and were included on one of the lists.
