Good news: Stoke City’s striker, who suffered a serious injury, has finally recovered and is back to the team.

Just as Ryan Mmaee was ready to make his first appearance back for Stoke City in nearly four months, he sustained an injury.

Mmaee has been working with the fitness staff on a knee ailment during the summer after missing the last few weeks of the previous season due to a hamstring injury. He was hoping to participate in last night’s friendly at Bolton Wanderers after returning to full training on Thursday, but on Sunday he became ill with tonsillitis. Yesterday, he was still experiencing fever.

According to Steven Schumacher, Ryan is sick; he has tonsillitis. After visiting him, the physician has prescribed antibiotics. It’s a pity because the idea was to give him some playing time at Bolton. He didn’t attend on Sunday or Monday, and three days later, his fever is still present. His tonsillitis was bad, and he wasn’t feeling well.

It won’t stop him from moving on to Alkmaar and further, but the season is lengthy, and he’ll catch up as soon as he can.

“He hasn’t been very fortunate. After a few days of training, he appeared really well-groomed and was having fun getting back out with the guys. He had been working with the physiotherapists for a very long time. He rejoined the group and worked out on Thursday and Friday. He obviously didn’t work out on Saturday because we were in Stockport, but he was getting ready for a session on Sunday before getting sick. He was unable to get out of bed.
