Will Crystal Palace’s attack be changed by this winger?

The most current transfer rumors and player metrics were covered by Ben Bocsak and Dave Davis in a recent edition of Market Metrics on EPL Index. Ismaïla Sarr, the former Watford winger who is currently being linked to a move to Crystal Palace, was one of the names cited. As the transfer window closes, supporters of Crystal Palace are curious to find out if Sarr can meet their attacking requirements.

During his tenure at Watford, Ismaïla Sarr garnered media attention, particularly for his performance against Liverpool, where he notched two goals in a 3-0 triumph. But according to his career path, he moved to Marseille and might now return to the Premier League with Crystal Palace. “Liverpool were in for him because he was supposed to be the next Sadio Mané,” observed Ben Bocsak. Sarr’s journey has been uneven, with both encouraging moments and times of underperformance, despite the great expectations.

Ben Bocsak gave a thorough review of Sarr’s present capabilities during the episode. Bocsak emphasized Sarr’s little playing time by saying, “He only made 15 starts for Marseille in the league, far from a regular.” Sarr’s speed, however, continues to be one of his greatest advantages, which could help Crystal Palace’s offensive approach. But there are concerns about his productivity and decision-making. “He wins just over 30% of his attempted take-ons, which is really low for a winger,” Bocsak noted.
