Arkansas’s FAYETTEVILLE KJ Jefferson, the quarterback for Arkansas, has declared that he plans to use the transfer portal on Saturday.
With just one year remaining in his eligibility, Jefferson has started for the Hogs for three years and changed the program’s history book.
“As much as I have enjoyed representing this state and university, I hope you have enjoyed watching me grow as a man and a player. I am eternally grateful and indebted to you for accepting me as one of your own,” Jefferson wrote on social media. “With that being said, after much prayer and thought, I will be entering the transfer portal for my final year of eligibility.”
The quarterback has completed more than 65% of his passes for 7,923 yards and 67 touchdowns.
goes by.
Regarded as a respected runner as well, Jefferson amassed 1,876 yards and 21 touchdowns while wearing a Hog jersey.
“It has been a dream to be a captain and QB1 at the University of Arkansas,” said Jefferson. “Accomplishing those records and being mentioned amongst the great QBs in Razorback history was an honor, but the memories and friendships I have made with my coaches and teammates along the way are what I will cherish the most.”
Despite being selected for the preseason All-SEC team, Jefferson had a difficult season with the Razorbacks, throwing for a career-low amount of yards, a career-high number of interceptions, and a decline in his completion percentage.
“I can not thank the fans enough for everything.the backing I have gotten from this wonderful state,” Jefferson declared.
With a 4-8 record at the end of the season, the Hogs were ranked 7th in the SEC West. Along the way, head coach Sam Pittman’s job was questioned by many fans, and the Razorbacks fired offensive coordinator Dan Enos.
The reunion of the Razorbacks with former head coach Bobby Petrino to fill the position of offensive coordinator garnered media attention weeks ago.
With Jefferson using the transfer portal and Petrino coming back to Fayetteville, the Hogs’ offensive line is sure to undergo significant changes in preparation for the upcoming campaign.
