Milwaukee Brewers are pursuing one of the finest pitchers available at MLB trade deadline.
The Milwaukee Brewers are among several contending teams looking to buy before the MLB trade deadline on July 30. Following Sunday’s victory, the Brewers have a 60-45 record heading into Monday’s game against the Atlanta Braves.
This puts the Brewers in a good position, with a six-game lead over the Cardinals in the NL Central division race.
Naturally, the Brewers should attempt to add a piece or two before the deadline, and they are allegedly working hard to do so.
According to renowned MLB sources Jon Heyman and Ken Rosenthal, the Milwaukee Brewers are one of a few teams interested in trading for Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Erick Fedde. The 31-year-old right-hander is having the best season of his career and is considered one of the best arms available.
Fedde, who is also under contract until next season, is considered as one of the more appealing trade chips at the deadline. However, for the same reason, there is no feeling of urgency for the White Sox to make a deal now rather than during the winter.
However, capitalizing by selling high in the midst of a great year could be a prudent move on the part of the White Sox front staff, especially because the aging veteran is unlikely to be around when the Sox return to competition. If the Brewers want to get something done, they’ll have to act quickly while competing with other offers from other contenders.
