Instead, the newly formed CFL team co-hosted a charity event to benefit widows and orphans in western Kenya who have been decimated by poverty and illness.

Henry Burris, the team’s captivating quarterback, came along with his spouse Nicole and their two small children. Rick Campbell, the head coach, arrived with his spouse, Jeri. Their new house in the Glebe is only a few blocks away. Campbell declared, “We want to be a part of this place because we love it here.”

Jeff Hunt, the team president, came up with the concept to host the fundraiser. It was held at the Otto’s Club lounge of the stadium and served as a fundraiser for Peggy Taillon’s HERA Mission of Canada, which Wendy Muckle directed.
