Elliott experiences a mishap just in pursuit that results in a spinner cord disagreement.

In early 2023, Chase Elliott suffered a fracture to his left tibia during a snowboarding accident, which kept him out of six events. It was shocking since Elliott had to be replaced by Josh Berry and Jordan Taylor at Hendrick Motorsports. The 2021 NASCAR Cup Series winner has never discussed that day in great detail, but that changed this week.

Elliott was a special guest on a recent episode of Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s podcast, The Dale Jr. Download, which was released. Elliott talked about the day of the snowboarding mishap in the podcast, including his conversation with Rick Hendrick, the owner of Hendrick Motorsports. Surprisingly, it went far better than he had expected.

I said, “Hey man, I’m sorry to tell you this, and I contacted Rick Hendrick.

I know you’re not interested in hearing this, but I think I seriously injured my knee, which is why I’m in the emergency room right now in Colorado,” Elliott stated. “I was astonished, to be honest, but he handled everything really well.”

“The weekend meant nothing to him. All he could think about was how long we were looking, what the procedure was, how awful it was, when surgery would be, whether I needed surgery, and if he could help at all. “Please keep me updated and let me know how bad it is,” he says. Don’t worry about this; let me know if there is anything I can do.

We succeeded this past weekend. We’ll resume racing as soon as you’re prepared to return. Just get right. It was astounding. It stunned me.

Elliott expected Hendrick to be upset with him for the mishap, but the opposite transpired. Hendrick wanted to help however he could and was understanding of his driver. It was fascinating to hear Elliott describe the procedure, but the conversation with Hendrick was particularly memorable. Given that Hendrick was taking care of Elliott at the time, the interaction demonstrates the appropriate course of action.
