SAD NEWS: His catastrophic knee injury has left all of his admirers furious.
After missing 27 games so far this season, Thomas Chabot had another injury on Wednesday night in Buffalo.
Defenceman Thomas Chabot of the Ottawa Senators is still without a concussion. Chabot is out for tonight’s home game against the Chicago Blackhawks, his 27th game-missing total this season. Senators head coach Jacques Martin stated on Thursday morning that he does not believe the injury is permanent. Remember, with less than three weeks remaining, even minor injuries could end a season.
The last several weeks, Martin clarified, “it’s something that he’s been dealing with. So we’ll just keep evaluating him on a day-to-day basis.” Chabot has been playing well lately, netting six points in his last six games.
However, the list of ailments and consequent absences has grown. Of Ottawa’s 71 games this season, the senator with the longest tenure has only participated in 44 of them. Chabot had wrist surgery during the off-season and was sidelined for the entire month of November due to a hand issue.
