GOOD NEWS: WE HAVE NOW LEARNED THAT THE OTTAWA REDBLACKS HAVE SIGNED ANOTHER QB.

The Ottawa Redblacks signed quarterback Matthew McKay to a contract on Friday and released quarterback Tyrrell Pigrome, adding to the already packed quarterback room.

Earlier in 2023, Pigrome was a player for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Ottawa. During the previous season, he participated in 17 games and ran for 109 yards and six touchdowns in addition to completing three passes for 46 yards.

COMMERCIAL

He attended Western Kentucky for one year, Towson for one, then Maryland for four years. Pigrome scored 46 touchdowns in all with 5,018 throwing yards and 1,541 rushing yards.

In the CFL for the first time, McKay attended college from 2018 to 22. The most recent was when he signed an intent letter with the San Before being let go, Antonio Brahmas played in the UFL in December.

He gained 5,708 passing yards and 873 rushing yards while playing for Elon, NC State, and Montana State. McKay played four seasons and scored 51 touchdowns.

So far this offseason, Ottawa has six quarterbacks on its roster. The top two quarterbacks on the depth chart, Jeremiah Masoli and Dru Brown, should compete for the starting position, but once training camp gets underway, the remaining four could provide an exciting rivalry.
