TRAUMATING NEWS: John Force is involved in another risky crash.
After a serious accident, drag racer and NHRA Funny Car driver John Force was moved from the hospital to a specialized neurological rehabilitation facility. Force’s car experienced a devastating engine explosion near the finish line of a race at the Virginia Nationals on June 23, which resulted in numerous crashes with the track’s barriers.
With an amazing record of 157 race victories and a racing career dating back to 1978, Force is a seasoned veteran of the sport at the age of 75. His most recent triumph occurred in New Hampshire only a month ago.
Force suffered severe injuries from the recent collision, including a cracked sternum, a traumatic brain injury (TBI), and damage to his right wrist. First of all Force was immediately taken care of by the NHRA medical team after the accident and was airlifted to the hospital, where he was treated in the Neuro ICU for more than two weeks.
According to his racing organization, John Force Racing, Force’s recuperation would not be easy. The group gave supporters the following information on July 9, 2024:
Drag racing champion John Force was released from VCU Medical Center on Tuesday, June 23, after spending 15 days in various states of intensive care. This allowed him to board an AirMed ambulance and travel three hours to a neurological rehab facility, where he will receive further treatment for the Traumatic Brain Injury he sustained in a June 23 crash.
