The Panthers are happy to announce the addition of another star talent.
On Monday, Dmitry Kulikov agreed to a four-year deal to remain with the Panthers. The conditions of payment were not revealed.
The defenceman, 33, had the right to sign a free agent contract without restrictions. In 76 regular-season games last season, he recorded 20 points (one goal, 19 assists), and in 24 postseason games, he recorded two assists, which helped the Panthers win the Cup.
It almost seems like a statement that says, ‘We’re trying to get boys to want to be here.’ And he’s all in,” Bill Zito, general manager of the Panthers, stated. “He gives it his all. He stated, “I’m all in,” and he has a respectable figure. However, I believe he might have had a better financial picture somewhere else. I’d like to remain. It’s truly invaluable, and to have a commitment from a man who acts that way, disclosing everything on the ice. That’s heartening.
Kulikov was chosen by Florida in the first round (at pick No. 14) of the 2009 NHL Draft. He has played for the Panthers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Anaheim Ducks, Minnesota Wild, Edmonton Oilers, New Jersey Devils, Winnipeg Jets, and Buffalo Sabres in 948 regular-season games, totaling 234 points (46 goals, 188 assists), and 53 playoff games, totaling 10 points (one goal, nine assists).
Tomas Nosek agreed to a one-year UFA contract. The 31-year-old forward played in 36 games for the New Jersey Devils past season, scoring six points (two goals, four assists).
As a UFA, A.J. Greer signed a two-year contract with the Panthers. The forward, 27, finished with 12 points (6 goals, 6 assists). for the previous season’s Calgary Flames.
“We’re trying to get other people in here who can contribute who are good people who are good team guys, so A.J. Greer and Tomas Nosek fit in,” Zito stated. “They are adaptable. They possess some roughness. They understand hockey. We are attempting to accomplish that there since they are capable of playing a variety of roles.”
