Right now he is removed as the head coach of oklahama sooners.
NORMAN — According to an ESPN report on Sunday, OU offensive coordinator Jeff Lebby has signed to a five-year contract to take over as head football coach at Mississippi State.
Zach Selmon, the former Sooners deputy AD and athletic director, will be Lebby’s familiar face in Starkville as he takes over as Bulldogs coach in place of Zach Arnett.
In a statement from Mississippi State, Lebby said, “Being the head coach at Mississippi State is the opportunity of a lifetime.” “My family and I are excited to become involved in this community, get to know our athletes, and start recruiting. This is a unique location with unique people, including a football program rich in history.
OU is ranked No. 4 in overall offense (502.4 yards per game) and No. 3 in scoring offense (43.2 points per game) nationally under Lebby.
Lebby, who became a member of Brent Venables’ coaching staff in December 2021, also played a significant role in selecting the Sooners’ elite class of 2024 recruits.
The Sooners are expected to hire an offensive coordinator shortly since the signing period, which begins on December 20, is swiftly approaching.

Bedenbaugh, Bill
Present position: offensive line coach at OU
Why it would make sense: Bedenbaugh has established himself as one of the top offensive line coaches in the country, producing a large pool of players ready for the NFL. Having worked with some of the top offenses in college football history, he joined the OU staff in 2013. It wouldn’t be the first tandem position for Bedenbaugh and Seth Littrell if Sooners coach Brent Venables decided to pair them as co-coordinators. In 2010, Bedenbaugh and Littrell shared the role as co-offensive coordinator at Arizona.

Why it could make sense: Halzle would provide a lot of continuity, having worked under Lebby as an offensive analyst at UCF in 2019 and taking over as the quarterbacks coach for the Knights in 2020 when Lebby left for Ole Miss. Former quarterback and OU alum Halzle has worked for Tennessee under Josh Heupel for the past three seasons, serving as offensive coordinator this year.
Why it would make sense: Littrell is already employed by the Sooners and is well-known to their staff. From 1997 to 2000, he was a member of the Sooners; for the final two seasons, Brent Venables served as OU’s co-defensive coordinator. Before taking the helm as head coach of North Texas from 2016 to 22, Littrell worked as an offensive coordinator at Arizona, Indiana, and North Carolina. Additionally, Littrell is close with Sooners quarterback commit Michael Hawkins, which may help OU hang onto the recruit.
