What a year Bobby Portis had. The veteran player for the Milwaukee Bucks is coming off one of his best seasons—possibly even of his entire NBA career—during his time in Milwaukee. However, despite Portis’ impressive performance, the Bucks were unable to overcome the No. 8-seeded Miami Heat in the NBA Playoffs, which led to an entirely unanticipated early exit from the postseason this year.
Now, Portis has released his thank-you note for the 2022–2023 campaign. The 28-year-old expressed his gratitude to all of the supporters who supported him and the Bucks throughout the entire season on Twitter:
“Grateful to the Milwaukee Bucks organization, the city of Milwaukee, the greatest NBA fans, and most Most importantly, I want to thank my friends and family for their love and support this season.
I am thankful that I can still play the game I love even though the season didn’t end how we had hoped. In his tweet, Portis wrote.
During his third season with the Bucks, Portis averaged 14.1 points on 49.6% shooting, 9.6 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 26.0 minutes per game, which was a career high. He also made 70 games this year, averaging 1.4 threes per game at a 37.0 percent clip.
Bobby Portis may not be a household name, but he is unquestionably a vital member of the Bucks. Although it may seem like he’s bidding farewell, Milwaukee fans will be relieved to learn that the 6-foot-10 big man is still under contract.
