Due to a critical statement made by Mason Miller, the owner of Oakland Athletics, has officially announced that he will be leaving his position.
As expected, there have been a lot of reports this week suggesting that the Oakland Athletics’ asking price for a possible Mason Miller deal is ridiculous. Even though he is only twenty-five, the A’s closer won’t be eligible for arbitration until the 2026 campaign.
His free agency period won’t begin until after the 2029 campaign.
With a 2.02 ERA and a 46.5% strikeout rate combined with that level of team control, you have yourself a highly sought-after and pricey trade target.
However, that simply raises the price of hiring Miller because of the amount of team control that comes with him.
Throughout the entire season, the typical teams—from the New York The Philadelphia Phillies and Baltimore Orioles are home to the Yankees. Could they agree on that? Yes. If they contributed, any team could.
However, Miller’s level of team control may also make some teams more visible here than they are elsewhere, as well. The Pirates are in the running for the postseason, and Miller hails from the Pittsburgh area.
