Unfortunately, the Calgary Stampeders’ world-class player’s injury reports have left the supporters furious.

The standout receiver hit the ground without making contact as he went for a grab at midfield.

He alerted the trainers to the problem by sitting up and grabbing his leg.

After rupturing his Achilles tendon early in the previous season, the 27-year-old has been gradually increasing his workload during training camp.

GM and head coach of the Stampeders Dave Dickenson stated, “Obviously, he’s hurt.” “At this point, I don’t know what to tell you.”

After receiver Auden Tate also left early from Stamps practice, this appeared to be the second major injury of the day.

Dickenson called off practice as soon as Henry continued to remain on the field; neither injury was identified right away, and the club will be hoping for positive results. Henry was surrounded by players as the Stampeders medical team attended to him and assisted him in leaving the field.

Dickenson remarked, “Yeah, we had a rough day. I’m just disappointed that happened for the guys.” It didn’t appear like they were minor injuries, so you can see that the boys were dejected about it.

I’m at a loss for words, other than to say that we will work hard and try our best. Just not working out for us, and I’m really sad for the men right now. I have to take a look in the mirror and try to think of a strategy.

Henry joined the Stampeders in 2021 and went on to have an outstanding 2022 season, catching 62 catches for 1,023 yards and eight touchdowns. That season, he was without a doubt the most dangerous deep-ball target in the league and perhaps the best receiver in the CFL.

He signed a three-year deal in October of that year, which was supposed to keep him in Calgary until the end of 2025.

However, he concluded last season with a terrible Achilles injury after making a strong start and collecting 14 catches for 228 yards in fewer than three games.

But Henry lingered in the Calgary area, cheering on his teammates from the sidelines as they competed for a postseason berth.

During the first several weeks of training camp, he increased his effort gradually and was fully expected to play for the Stamps this season. Henry was listed as a starter for the preseason game on Saturday against the B.C. Lions, but due to inclement weather, he was taken out of the game just before kickoff.

After playing for stints in the NFL with the Cincinnati Bengals, Atlanta Falcons, Philadelphia Eagles, Arizona Cardinals, and Florida State, Tate was in his debut season with the Stampeders. In the preseason game on Saturday, he hauled in two passes for sixteen yards.
