Unimaginable Shocking news: The Seattle Mariners head coach has scanned his team and sacked two more filthy, selfish players.
Inconceivable Startling news: After surveying his roster, Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll fired two more reprehensible, self-centered players.
Seattle (AP) Less than six months after he was hired, the Seattle Mariners fired offensive coordinator and bench coach Brant Brown on Friday.
Amidst an offensive slump that lasted the entire season, the team announced Brown’s termination. With 3.64 runs per game, the Mariners are tied for 28th place in MLB this season and now rank 29th in total runs scored. In strikeouts, they led all of baseball.
Brown was hired by the Mariners in December to assist in revitalizing an offense that struggled at the plate in 2023. Brown had previously served as hitting coach for the Miami Marlins in 2023. The Mariners are three games ahead of the Texas Rangers in the AL West, but their bats haven’t performed up to par thus far.
In addition to stating that “Director of Hitting Strategy Jarret DeHart and Assistant Hitting Coach Tommy Joseph will continue and expand on their roles with the hitters,” Seattle additionally clarified in its announcement that Brown had been “relieved of his duties.”
Right fielder Mitch Haniger of the Mariners stated, “Some of these things as a player are way above your head, so that stuff we try not to focus on.” However, it impacts us, and regrettably, this choice was somewhat influenced by our collective offense. We’re not very thrilled about it either. Brown isn’t to blame; that wasn’t his fault.
Before spending five years with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Brown worked as the minor league outfield coordinator for the Mariners from 2012 to 2016 and as the offensive coordinator for the player development system in 2017.
