On Tuesday, Patty Gasso was asked what she thought about eventually relocating to the opulent Love’s Field.
She struggled greatly to summarize everything while sitting in the Marita Hynes Field interview, team, coaches, trophy, and general purpose room.
Gasso remarked, “I don’t know what to tell you about Love’s Field because it’s still a dream.” “I really won’t pinch myself until the first pitch is thrown.”
The OU Tournament begins on Friday at 2 p.m. with OU taking on Miami-OH. It will be a momentous occasion.
Love’s Field, which will cost between $42 million and $48 million, will be the pinnacle of collegiate softball fields. Gasso, for one, is eager to “make a right turn instead of a left” as she moves for the first time in thirty years.
Don’t misunderstand, though. Marita Hynes Field will be missed by Gasso, if only because of all the incredible memories she and her players have made there over the years.
