Head coach of Brighton & Hove Albion Roberto De Zerbi was sent off after the team’s loss to Fulham last month, and as a result, he received a one-match touchline ban.
After the 1-0 loss at home, the Italian was shown a red card in the tunnel for arguing with referee Darren England.
De Zerbi will henceforth be ineligible to play against West Ham on Saturday in the Premier League. In addition, he was fined £15,000.
The following was stated in an FA statement: “Roberto De Zerbi of Brighton & Hove Albion has been fined £15,000 and suspended from the touchline for one match following their Premier League match against Fulham on Saturday, February 18.”
“The head coach acknowledged that his actions on the field at halftime were inappropriate, and that his words and/or actions toward a match official in the tunnel following the game were inappropriate, abusive, and/or insulting.
“After a subsequent hearing, an independent Regulatory Commission imposed his sanctions.”
