Another set of unfortunate news has hit the OKC Thunder’s: their head coach shed tears as four of his star players made the decision to terminate their huge contracts.
The Oklahoma City Thunders have received yet another bad set of news: their head coach broke down in tears after four of his key players decided to end their enormous contracts.
According to sources, Josh Giddey is set to join the Chicago Bulls in a trade that sends Alex Caruso to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Bulls are reportedly planning to trade two-time All-Defensive Guard Caruso to acquire Thunder guard Giddey this summer, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
The planned agreement does not seem to involve draft compensation in any scenario, despite reports that the Bulls had previously received multiple offers for Caruso, including first-round picks.
Before the 2024 trade deadline, the Bulls rejected multiple offers for Caruso, including one that ended up in the top 10 of this year’s draft, according to Will Gottlieb of CHGO.
Caruso averaged a career-high 10.1 points per game, one block, and 1.7 steals per game by the end of the season.
The NBA had been looking into the allegations made against Giddey, but it was shut down in March.
In January, Newport Beach, California, police similarly declared they would not press charges against Giddey.
After the accusations, Giddey was never banned and kept playing even though the Thunder ultimately lost in the second round of the playoffs.
The Australian, nevertheless, suffered a reduction in playing time during the postseason and might gain from a change of scenery in Chicago.
