Morgan Givens/University of Oklahoma NORMAN The National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced on Thursday that the Oklahoma softball coaching staff has been chosen the 2024 ATEC/NFCA Division I National Coaching Staff of the Year for a third consecutive season.

In 2024, the Sooner program won its eighth national championship overall and fourth in a row under the leadership of head coach Patty Gasso, associate head coaches Jennifer Rocha and JT Gasso, and assistant coach Falepolima Steele. For Gasso and her team, it is the third consecutive year and the seventh overall national coaching staff of the year award; they have also won the title in 2000, 2013, 2016, 2017, 2022, and 2023.

The Sooners went 38-6 versus power five opponents, winning 27 games by run rule and recording 23 shutouts.
