Owing to an injury that required knee surgery, the elite Grizzlies player wishes to step down.

the memphis grizzlies announced on sunday that centre steven adams will have knee surgery to conclude the season. adams last played on january 22 after suffering a pcl injury that ended his season. he will now miss the entirety of 2023–24 due to the injury, which lost him the last 36 games of the previous campaign. adams received a stem-cell injection in march, and a follow-up evaluation was scheduled for four weeks. the injury persisted throughout the offseason and playoffs. in their release on sunday, the grizzlies said that their rehabilitation “did not resolve ongoing knee instability.” they did not elaborate on what went wrong with adams’ recuperation.

adams suffers a tough setback, and the grizzlies are hoping to improve on their second-place western standing from the previous campaign. their leading centre and all-star guard, ja morant, has been suspended for the first 25 games of the season following several gun-related off-court incidents.
