A career spanning twenty-two seasons is extremely long in basketball, or any other professional sport. Although it’s difficult to measure, this factual piece does a fair job.
In his last NBA game, Carter was defeated 136-131 in overtime by the New York Knicks on March 11, but he made a successful final shot at the NBA. Carter made a three-point shot with 13.4 seconds remaining in overtime. He claimed on “Winging It” that his decision to retire was somewhat easier after his last victory.
“Making my final attempt improved the circumstances. It probably would have been a little different if I hadn’t missed my final attempt. It would have felt somewhat distinct.
Carter remarked, “I would have been dying to get back, if only for a minute, to play and make one shot. Free throw, layup, whatever, I don’t care.” “Whether you realize it or not, as a player in your final game, you always want to say, ‘Well,I’m content because, at the very least, I made my final attempt at a career.”
In order to preserve “Vinsanity” for all time, the Hawks honored Carter with a video that featured some of his best moments.
