NORMAN – On Wednesday, Patty Gasso, the head softball coach at the University of Oklahoma, announced the addition of eight new recruits to the team for the 2024 recruiting class. For the 2025 season, the Sooners will welcome Sydney Barker, Gabbie Garcia, Chaney Helton, Corri Hicks, Audrey Lowry, Kadey McKay, Tia Milloy, and Riley Zache as freshmen.

The eight signees come from three different time zones and six states: Barker and Hicks will join the Sooners from California, Garcia is from Arizona, Milloy is from Washington, Lowry is from Indiana, Zache is from Michigan, and Helton and McKay will remain in their home state of Oklahoma. Oklahoma has produced multiple all-conference, all-state, and all-America selections in addition to multiple state titles in its outstanding 2024 recruiting class.

“This class has a ton of leaders,” Gasso remarked. “These athletes all instantly stand out for the way they guide their teams on the field.
They have a lot of vocalization, a strong sense of passion, and remarkable gaming intelligence. These athletes are all incredibly athletic and have great potential for collegiate sports.
Athletes that can play top-tier defense and generate enough runs at the plate to be in this lineup are what I look for in them. On both sides of the ball, each of these athletes possesses certain qualities.

With the size of our graduating senior class, everyone of these freshmen is competitive enough to compete for starting slots the next season, and we can’t wait for them to join the campus in the fall.”
