LSU TIGERS MENS BASEBALL WELCOME BACK A DENGERIOUS KEY PLAYER..
I recently wrote about how Jared Jones’s strength at the MLB draft combine was drawing attention. It appears more likely by the day that he will be selected and not return to LSU.
It looks like Jay Johnson may have found the right player to take over at first base. Dayton native Eddie Yamin IV is a 6-foot-5 infielder/catcher. With 53 games played and a.342 batting average, he had an incredible season for the Dayton Flyers. In addition to his 54 RBI, he had 13 home runs, 14 doubles, and a.608 slugging percentage. Despite having played first base the entire 2024 season, he has experience as a catcher.
After losing both its first baseman and all of its catchers, LSU is now a team with two or three options at every position. I don’t think Johnson will be slowing down anytime soon; he has been blazing in the portal.
