By firing him has caused the Michigan wolverine what is said be a taboo…

Michigan Football is making significant steps in its recruitment efforts for the class of 2025, with two promising running backs showing high interest following their recent campus visits.

Four-star recruit Jordon Davison, who ranks 96th nationally and sixth among running backs in his class, recently finished an official visit to Michigan. During his time there, he explored the program’s strategy and the potential benefits of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) opportunities, similar to those earned by current players like Donovan Edwards. Davison is also considering other top schools and plans visits to Ohio State and Oregon soon.

“That’s home for me, so I hate to say I’m a little biased, but I feel like they knocked it out of the park once again,” Davison’s trainer Steve Briscoe said. “It was a good trip. Definitely a good trip. (They were) basically, just showing him how important being ‘the guy’ as a running back at Michigan is. It’s just different than anywhere else in the country. Just letting him know, ‘hey, you’re a running back, where else would you go? This is where you’re supposed to be.’

“We spent so much time with coach Alford and coach Moore. That was a big deal. And being in a small group with one of the guards from Gorman was also there. Him and Jordan know each other and definitely want to play together. So, (Michigan) played it smart.”

“They did all they could do,” Briscoe said. “I’ll tell you that he was smiling. If you see Jordan smile, that’s a good sign. He doesn’t say much, so I think they did a pretty good job.”

Meanwhile, three-star running back Shekai Mills-Knight also shared good feedback from his recent unofficial visit to Michigan. Ranked 33rd among running backs in his class, Mills-Knight liked the straightforward coaching style at Michigan and is considering returning for an official visit during the high-profile Michigan vs. Texas game this season.

“(The main highlights of the visit was) getting to know (Head) Coach (Sherrone) Moore and (Running Backs) Coach (Tony) Alford and Coach (Fred) Jackson,” Mills-Knight told Brice Marich with The Michigan Insider ($). “They are some real ones and I love their vibe. The knowledge from coach Alford and coach Jackson and how cool coach Moore is.”

“One of the most down to earth head coaches out there,” Mills-Knight said of Sherrone Moore. “It’s really cool and he’s a real genuine dude that loves his players and has great connections with them. He also loves to win.”

“He’s one of the best running back coaches in the game and his track record proves that he was telling me that I’m a priority,” Mills-Knight said of Wolverines RBs coach Tony Alford. “Trying to get me to bump an official visit that I had scheduled, but I’ll be taking an official visit in the season. (I’m looking to take my official visit for the) Michigan vs. Texas game.”

Michigan Football continues to build a strong recruitment pipeline, drawing top talent nationwide with its blend of athletic and academic options. The program’s targeted approach seems to connect well with young athletes like Davison and Mills-Knight, setting the stage for a potentially robust 2025 recruiting class.
