Bills received even more bad news when Sean McDermott reportedly revealed the retirement of two of his best players, who were unable to….

In the offseason, draft day is a nostalgic occasion. When a player is drafted or doesn’t have their name called, their aspirations can come true or fall apart.

A player’s name being called does not, however, guarantee that they will be included on the roster—or any roster, for that matter. It’s difficult to stay in the NFL.

An NFL player needs to play to their maximum ability and maintain good health even if they are gifted athletes.

For varying amounts of time, several Bills players were able to maintain that level of performance before their bodies began to slow down. While some have been excellent with Buffalo, they require assistance in order to stay up with the pros as they age.

Many players who haven’t worked out in the league, some of whom didn’t even make it through a season, were also selected by the Bills.

Receiver Robert Woods of the Buffalo Bills (2013–2016)
There was more skill to Robert Woods than meets the eye. He would show glimmers of star potential during his first three years with Buffalo, when he was selected in a dubious passing offense.

However, with a youthful Sammy Watkins as the best option, he was never able to completely display his abilities. Woods signed with the Rams in 2017 after announcing his free agency and being a part of their redesigned offense.

Under the newly appointed Sean McVay, he was reunited with his former teammate, Sammy Watkins. Woods would go on to have two excellent seasons with the Rams, totaling more over 1,100 yards in each.

After 2018, Woods slowed down a little bit and is currently a member of the young, talented Houston Texans team. With Stefon Diggs in the mix and receivers Nico Collins and Tank Dell ahead of him on the depth chart, Woods didn’t play a big part for the team last season, and he isn’t expected to play much this year either.

Woods may even get cut by the end of training camp this year because he turned 32 in April and doesn’t have much left in the tank. He will probably be regarded as a fourth option at best even if he does sign with another team.
