Just in:head coach of the Celtics FC announced his contract termination..
Brendan Rodgers replaces Ante Postecoglou as Celtic’s head coach after signing a three-year contract. After being fired by Leicester City less than two months ago, Rodgers has now completed his return to Celtic Park. Prior to joining the Foxes, the 50-year-old won seven trophies with Celtic.
The Scottish champions will be hopeful that Rodgers can maintain his success after suffering consecutive domestic disappointments before to his departure in 2019. Along with first-team coaches Stevie Woods, Gavin Strachan, and Harry Kewell remaining at the club and serving as Rodgers’ interim manager, the club has also confirmed John Kennedy’s employment.
And now the former Liverpool manager takes over a Celtic club that, although not entirely dependent on Postecoglou, was definitely influenced by his knowledge of and ties in Japanese leagues. Rodgers confronts a squad that was supposed to be his, but it will not feel like that at all. The upcoming season’s success will be determined in large part by how quickly he helps the team transcend Postecoglou’s stint and how quickly the fans forgive Rodgers for his initial blunder.
