In four minutes, the Saskatchewan Roughriders erase a 10-point deficit to surprise the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

With less than four minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, the Saskatchewan Roughriders overcame a 10-point deficit to defeat the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 33-30 by scoring the final 13 points of the game.

Trevor Harris, the quarterback for the Riders, passed for 390 yards and two touchdowns. Triple-digit receiving yards were hauled in by both Kian Schaffer-Baker (109) and Jerreth Sterns (112).

Bo Levi Mitchell and Harris went toe-to-toe in the passing game; Mitchell finished with 380 yards and three touchdowns, but he also had the crucial interception in the late fourth quarter that cost them the game. Hamilton had trouble converting on second down, making only seven of his twenty-one attempts.

For the third time in four seasons, the Riders are 2-0 at the beginning of the season. Hamilton’s record now stands at 0–2.

Despite all the talk that Shawn Bane Jr. and Samuel Emilus are the team’s top receivers, Sterns and Schaffer-Baker have been the team’s standout receivers thus far this season.

Sterns arrived Schaffer-Baker had an explosive game, going for 109 yards and two touchdowns, while up big with six catches for 112 yards. Both of them rank among the team’s top three receivers in terms of receiving yards (193 yards to Sterns’ 193). The Riders now have one of the best wide receiver rooms in the CFL thanks to the rise of these two, Bane, and Emilus.
