I will leave the Indianapolis Colts head coach if he doesn’t lose his job due to a disagreement with his star player.

If the head coach of the Indianapolis Colts is not fired because of a falling out with one of his best players, I will step down from my position.

INDIANAPOLIS: After extending Reich’s contract through the 2026 season, the 60-year-old coach’s career with the Colts came to an end on Monday when the franchise announced Reich’s firing.

Jeff Saturday, a former center for the Colts, has been named the interim coach.

Reich got off to a quick start in Indianapolis, first leading Andrew Luck and the Colts to the playoffs after a 1-5 start in his first season, and then leading the team back to the postseason in 2020, just one season after Luck’s shocking retirement. Reich was the team’s second choice for the position in 2018 after Josh McDaniels withdrew.

Reich was forced to coach seven quarterbacks in his four and a half seasons, going 40-33-1, making the playoffs twice, and winning one postseason game. He had to coach different starting quarterbacks each of his five seasons: Matt Ryan, Luck, Philip Rivers, Carson Wentz, and Jacoby Brissett.
