Due to his wife’s critical remarks, the Bulldogs head coach has decided to end his…

Bombers ruckman Sam Draper will have a ‘four-week spell’ from speaking on the podcast 200+ after he raised eyebrows recently for making comments about Western Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge.

Draper earned the ire of both Bulldogs and Bombers officials after weighing in on Beveridge’s coaching stint.

On the podcast, Draper, in a section where he was imitating a journalist, said he had a ‘big call’ about the Bulldogs.

Journalist Caroline Wilson has revealed Draper will take a break from the show for a month to avoid any more dramas.

‘Sam Draper wanted to keep doing the podcast; Essendon didn’t,’ Wilson revealed on Nine’s Footy Classified.

‘His management, Michael Doughty, interfered and said he can have a four-week spell.

‘There’s a feeling from Essendon that they were the pest of the footy world for a long time, and it’s a bit early for them to be having a whack at another club.’

Wilson went on to say that it took a little while for the 25-year-old to understand how harmful his words were to the Bulldogs.

‘I think the penny did take a while to drop with Sam Draper and he had to be told several times that it wasn’t funny,’ she said.

Beveridge’s future with the Dogs is currently up in the air after a loss to Hawthorn in round eight.

‘The elephant in the room for Essendon is that what he’d been saying is what a lot of people think (about Beveridge),’ Wilson said.
Bulldogs boss Kylie Watson-Wheeler commented on the speculation around Beveridge’s future, asking fans to stay patient.

‘I think it’s too early in the season for us to panic or for us to make rash choices,’ Watson-Wheeler said on ABC Radio.

‘But we’re always coming together as a club and we’re always talking where we’re at. Does the playing group have what they need? Are the right choices being made?

‘This is not something that you just jump in on when you have a bad loss… these talks are happening constantly and we’re always assessing where we are at as a club.’
